Roof Leak Repair — Carlingford
📍 Carlingford | May 2026
The Problem
Margaret, a retiree living alone in Carlingford, contacted Edy's Handyman Services after weeks of watching a damp patch spread across her bedroom ceiling every time it rained. She'd been putting off calling anyone, unsure who to trust and worried about the cost.
"I kept telling myself I'd deal with it later, but every storm made it a bit worse. I just didn't know where to start."
The Fix
An on-site inspection found the cause:
allowing rainwater to seep in during heavy weather. Left unchecked, it would have led to further ceiling damage and a risk of mould.
Work completed:
- Removed and replaced the damaged flashing section
- Re-sealed surrounding joints with weather-resistant sealant
- Checked adjoining roof sections and guttering to rule out further weak points
The Result

The repair was completed in a single visit, well before the next forecast rain. Margaret was walked through exactly what had caused the leak and what was done to fix it.
"He explained everything clearly and didn't rush. I finally feel like I can stop worrying every time it rains." — Margaret, Carlingford
